ABOUT PETER ELIKANN, CRIMINAL DEFENSE ATTORNEY

Peter Elikann is a well-known veteran Boston-based criminal defense attorney, bar leader, author of books on the criminal justice system, college law instructor, and an on-air expert legal commentator. He has been named a "Super Lawyer" of Massachusetts and New England for the 12th straight year.

 

Attorney Elikann has given speeches around the country, written more than 85 articles for legal publications concerning criminal law, authored three books, run educational programs for other lawyers, helped draft and testified on numerous legislation, and has  appeared as a legal analyst on thousands of television and radio programs and newspapers. In 2019 alone, he did interviews or made appearances 69 times on television, radio, and newspapers. In particular, he currently serves as an expert on-air legal commentator for the Boston 25 News channel. He has been a regular expert on-air commentator on the Court TV Network for more than a dozen years, MSNBC and CNN.

 

Attorney Elikann teaches criminal law at Bridgewater State University. His previous books include Superpredators: The Demonization of Our Children by the Law and The Tough On Crime Myth: Real Solutions to Cut Crime.

 

Attorney Elikann, the former chair of the Massachusetts Bar Association's Criminal Justice Section Council, currently serves on the Massachusetts Criminal Justice Commission; the Massachusetts Bar Association House of Delegates; the editorial board of the Massachusetts Law Review and is active on a large number of other legal boards, committees, and projects.
